Inktober is a daily drawing challenge created by artist, Jake Parker, to improve his inking skills and develop positive drawings habits. A prompt is provided for each day in the month of October, to inspire your daily drawing. Since its creation in 2009, this challenge has grown into a worldwide endeavor with thousands of artists taking on the challenge each year.

By 2018, I had followed other artists' work during Inktober for years but felt participating was beyond me. The idea of completing a drawing every day for a month was intimidating.

This was the first year that artist, Sha’an d’Anthes created her own prompt list called Peachtober. Her goal was to create a prompt list that was more straightforward and illustrator-friendly. Thankfully, the prompts inspired me to participate in Inktober for the first time.
